Engineering Leadership
An expert grounded in current industry experience
I have spent my entire career building software and leading engineering teams at private and venture-backed technology companies — and I still do today. This active industry experience is the foundation of my expert witness practice.
Why this matters for litigation
Software technology disputes often involve systems, decisions, and events spanning many years. My perspective as an expert is grounded in 25+ years of hands-on engineering experience and 15+ years of engineering leadership — building teams, shipping products, managing and securing infrastructure, and protecting intellectual property at private and venture-backed companies. I have not just studied how software gets built; I have done it across every major shift in the industry over the last 25 years. And I still do it today.
My expert opinions are informed by current, firsthand experience leading engineering teams, managing security programs, making architecture decisions, reviewing code, and shipping software at companies backed by a16z, Goldman Sachs, GV, Index Ventures, and Menlo Ventures. When I testify about how engineers build software, manage source code, protect trade secrets, or implement patented technologies, I speak from direct, ongoing experience.
